Ethos and Values

We hold dear our five core values and we all work hard to ensure we always act in a way that reflects our ethos and underpins our values, which is to always “do the right thing”.

We have adopted the phrase “do the right thing” as our ethos, as this underpins all our values.

Honesty

This value sees us being honest with each other and to you, our client. This includes us making sure we can add value to your situation at the outset; if not, we will explain how/why and never seek to charge for being unable to help.

We will always advise honestly on prospects and likely costs. More than that, we will give an honest appraisal of the broader issues involved, which can be the commercial and/or emotional considerations for adopting a contentious path. We strive to ensure you know what issues you may face with any course of action.

Professionalism

In all we do, we ensure that every aspect remains professional. To us this means striving for excellence; both the advice we provide and the service we deliver.

How we behave reflects on us and we ensure that we are accountable for what we do. We stand by our advice and do our utmost to do what we say; whether keeping to our agreed fee budgets or providing our advice within agreed timescales. We do what we say and stand by our advice.

Transparency

We are upfront and clear about what work we will undertake, the best course of action for you and likely fees. This way there are no unwanted surprises or disappointment.

We provide our advice to you clearly and in a way that ensures you understand your position, the options available to you and how we recommend you proceed. This applies from the very outset of our relationship and continues throughout.

Integrity

This trait is a requirement of all Solicitors, but, to us, it means more. It applies to all our business relationships, but especially with our clients.

We exercise utmost truthfulness, honesty and professionalism in all our dealings with you. While we can usually help most people, this value will see us tell you not to use us, if it is not in your best interests to do so. This could be because you would be wasting your money or where you have an alternative means of funding legal advice, such as, insurance.
